WHO WE ARE
Simply Perfect Properties is a collaboration between Simply Perfect Design Co. and Boulevard Properties. Owner Penny Klinedinst partnered with local entrepreneur Alex Halbach in hopes of bringing new life to old homes in the Sioux Falls area. Follow along as they reimagine restoration on their first Simply Perfect Properties project within the Historic District of McKennan Park.

THE HISTORY
707 East 21st Street
BUILT IN 1930
Located in the historic McKennan Park neighborhood. 707 East 21st Street is one of the district's many architecturally significant homes.
THE STORY BEHIND THE 1930 COTTAGE
Built in 1930, this home reflects a pivotal moment in Sioux Falls history. As the city grew beyond its frontier roots, neighborhoods south of downtown became home to business owners, professionals, tradespeople, and growing middle-class families.
Constructed during the final years of the Arts and Crafts era and just before the Great Depression brought residential construction to a near standstill, this home represents the end of a significant chapter in the city's architectural history.
Following World War II, building styles and neighborhood development shifted, making homes from this period increasingly rare and historically significant.
THE FIRST OWNERS
The home's first residents were Richard B. Thomas of Thomas Heating and Ventilating Company and his wife, Mae, who lived here until 1936.
